Two sci-fi films this week Chinese mega blockbuster and a film all but forgotten by it’s distributor. Which did I rate and which did I berate?
Fast Color is a 2018 American drama sci-fi thriller film directed by Julia Hart from a screenplay by Hart and Jordan Horowitz. It stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Lorraine Toussaint, Saniyya Sidney, Christopher Denham, and David Strathairn. Gugu Mbatha-Raw stars as Ruth, a woman with supernatural powers on the run from law enforcement and scientists who want to study and control her. The film had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 10, 2018. It was released on April 19, 2019, by Codeblack Films.
The Wandering Earth
As the sun is dying out, people all around the world build giant planet thrusters to move Earth out of its orbit and sail Earth to a new star system. Yet the 2500-year journey comes with unexpected dangers, and in order to save humanity, a group of young people in this age of a wandering Earth fight hard for the survival of humankind.
